Subject: Project 1 Status Report and Reflection

The purpose of my project, “Delicious Budget-Friendly Bread Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce,” was to teach students and low-income families how to make an easy and affordable dessert. My video shows the steps for making the bread pudding and butterscotch sauce. I also explained that ingredients can be changed or replaced based on what people have available or if they have allergies.

My audience affected my choice to use a video because visual demonstrations make the recipe easier to understand. Instead of only reading instructions, viewers can watch how each step is done. One challenge I had was recording the video by myself. It was hard to get good camera angles without someone helping me.

I used my classmates feedback by adding the baking times. As seen on my video at time stamp 3:10. One feedback I decided not to add was words on the screen because I am not very tech-savvy and felt the visual demonstrations were enough.

This project taught me how important rhetorical choices are. I learned that I need to think about my audience and choose the best way to give them information. I also learned that feedback can help make a project clearer and more useful.
