Content Management

Before this project, I had experience organizing information for school assignments, but I had less experience organizing information for a proposal with a specific audience. Project 3 helped me understand that research needs to be organized so the reader can easily understand the problem and proposed solution. My project focused on foster children in New Mexico who may need emergency placements when there are not enough foster homes available. One strategy I used was dividing my proposal into sections. I explained the problem first, followed by my proposed emergency placement program and the steps needed to make it work. I also considered the costs and possible challenges of the program. One challenge was deciding what information would be most useful to my audience. I wanted to focus on information that could help CYFD leadership or a foster care agency understand the problem. Two pieces of evidence from my project are my plan to interview foster parents or social workers and my plan to use online sources about foster care and placement shortages. I also planned to create a chart comparing children needing placements with available foster homes. In the future, I would continue organizing research around my audience and purpose. I would also keep better track of my sources while researching.
